Free browser converter

Convert images to HEIC.

A high-efficiency container commonly used by Apple devices for photos. Conversion runs on this device, so your source images never need to leave the browser.

Migration status

HEIC encoding is being rebuilt

The source Tools project contains a placeholder for HEIC output, while the old website only has the later implementation inside a minified build. We are keeping this public route and its format guide, but will not pretend an incomplete encoder is ready. Use JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP, WebP, AVIF, SVG, or TIFF output for now.

This migration currently accepts JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP, SVG, WebP, and AVIF inputs. HEIC and TIFF decoding are being rebuilt from the separate Tools codebase.

What is HEIC?

A format with a specific job

A high-efficiency container commonly used by Apple devices for photos.

Best for: Apple photo workflows and efficient personal photo storage.

What to expect

Transparency can be preserved

HEIC output can retain transparent pixels represented in the decoded source image.

Lossy output uses a quality setting of 90; lossless formats preserve the decoded pixels.
